National campaign Back to the live theater!

“Back to live theater!” Is the invitation of children and youth by the ASSITEJ Lithuania, which is celebrating its 20th anniversary this year, on 1st June organizes national campaign in seven regions of Lithuania. The campaign is dedicated to mark the International Children’s Day and will feature over ten free events in a variety of content and formats for viewers from 0 to 18 years old. Drama, puppet, musical, dance performances, creative, educational activities, excursions and laboratories, and most importantly – live meetings of children and youth with professional theater and artists. This campaign is one of the events of the ASSITEJ Lithuania anniversary program, which is financed by Vilnius City Municipality.

Twelve members of the ASSITEJ Lithuania are participating in this campaign and will present their events not only in their hometown, but also in guests in other regions, from Klaipėda to Vilnius, from Panevėžys to Alytus. Alytus Puppet Theater “Aitvaras” will visit the Ignalina District Municipality Public Library, where it will perform a performance based on Loreta Kavolė’s book “Crazy Strange Journey” for 5-10 years children (dir. Loreta Skruibienė). And the Keistuoliai Theater from Vilnius will come to Alytus as a guest and at the invitation of the campaign partner and event organizer Alytus Culture Center will show a cheerful musical performance “HOP!” for 4-12 years children (dir. Aidas Giniotis). Alytus City Theater at its home, thanks to the support of two socially responsible companies UAB Glass LT and UAB Lankava, will give families under the support of the Alytus Family Center the opportunity to visit the performance “Šiobeito echo” free of charge (dir. Arvydas Lebeliūnas).

Kaunas State Puppet Theater will invite families to the educational program “Profession – Puppetry” and Baltic Circus in Kaunas invites families to the classic circus program “Visit a Clown”. Kaunas City Chamber Theater in its yard together with its partner “Kaunas European Capital of Culture 2022” will organize a creative laboratory “Liberation of a Creative Body with Marius Pinigis”. DANCING ID “14-29 years young people.

Kelmė Small Theater will show Ona Jautakė’s performance “Prunelijus dream” for 5-15 years children (dir. Algimantas Armonas). Panevėžys Puppet Carriage Theater will travel to the Katinai village of Panevėžys district, where in cooperation with the Katinai Culture Center, children from 3 years will be invited to participate in the theatrical improvisation “Puppet Circus” (dir. Igor Ignatenko and Stanislav Alochin). The Šeiko Dance Theater, which is active in Klaipėda, will organize an open creative dance and movement laboratory for the whole family in the yard of the Culture Factory (artistic director Agnija Šeiko).

In Vilnius, events will take place in several places, as most of ASSITEJ Lithuania members are established here. Vilnius Puppet Theater for children from 4 years will present a performance “Rabbit Uprising” based on a poem by Kazys Binkis (dir. Rimas Driežis), at the Lithuanian Armed Forces Vilnius Crew in the Officers’ Chamber a theatrical excursion, educational workshop and a performance on Lithuanian history “Secrets from the Past” for children from 5 years and the whole family will be shown by “The Table Theater” (dir. Saulė Degutytė), and in Žydų street the performance-action “Puodeli virk, puodeli stok!” will be organized by the Piglet Icarus Theater (dir. Vitalijus Mazūras) .Thanks to the Vilnius City Municipality support Dansema Dance Theater will perform for children “Colorful Games” (chor. Birutė Banevičiūtė) free of charge at the Naujoji Vilnia Culture Center.
